This was a decently calm day of just walking around and taking photos. We went there to help clean up the house of a passed relative with some extended family, and I wandered around the town while we were waiting for everyone else to arrive so we could start.
This is just the bridge the trains cross to get to the United States. There were no trains when I was there, unfortunately.
The street that goes right against the lake. In some areas you can get pretty close to the water, while in others there's a bit of a buffer.
The same bridge, but from a bit further east and with a lot more of the lake in view. You can sort of see the United States from there.
A seemingly abandoned train on tracks adjacent to the ones that run across the bridge. From the bridge you can see in the background, you can see into all of the empty cars. They're rusting and covered in snow.
One last shot with the bridge, and the street that runs along the lake. Quiet and sleepy, just as I'd describe the town. Not a bad place though, and the people were quite friendly.
I tried, while editing, to give these an almost film-like look, to create that old "small town" sort of feeling. I did have to muck around with my preset a lot to get the lighting and shadows to look right, but it wasn't too hard to fix. Everything was taken with a Sony a6000 with a Sigma 16mm f1.4 lens.
